About Eleanor Sybil D’Cruz

Eleanor Sybil D’Cruz is an educator, writer, and lifelong learner with over 30 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum design. Deeply rooted in holistic and human-centered education, Eleanor homeschooled her daughter, Grace, embracing a learning journey that prioritized curiosity, creativity, and connection over conventional systems.
Her rich academic background includes a Master’s in English Literature and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights. She has trained in alternative education systems, including the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) model, and has worked extensively in both formal institutions and informal learning environments.
Eleanor is currently leading content development for the Playful Parenting Community, where she brings her wisdom, warmth, and depth to co-create meaningful learning experiences for parents and children. She has previously served as Head of the English Department at Purkul Youth Development Society and held various leadership and teaching roles in reputed schools across India.
As the founder of Eleanor’s Spoken English Classes, she has empowered learners of all ages—including women, children with special needs, and international students—to express themselves confidently and authentically. She is also a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and grassroots education, having initiated several community-based programs for rural women and school dropouts.
Eleanor is the author of The Dawning: an awakening unto her own worth and one of the co-authors of Parenting with a Smile, where her voice reflects a deep belief in the transformative power of parenting, learning, and love. She currently lives in a serene city in Uttarakhand, where she continues to write, mentor, and support the evolution of playful parenting and education.
