🌱 Child-Led or Left Alone? A Confession from My Unschooling Journey 🌱
Lately, I’ve been asking myself a tough question:
Are we truly letting our child lead… or are we quietly stepping away?
Unschooling is magical, no doubt. The freedom, the flow, the respect for the child’s inner compass—it feels so right. But sometimes, I wonder…
When my little one is deep into screens, and I choose not to interrupt, is it trust? Or is it disconnection masked as respect?
I don’t want to control.
I don’t want to shame.
But I also don’t want to neglect the connection.
Being child-led doesn’t mean being uninvolved. It means being present—emotionally, curiously, gently.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as sitting beside them, asking “What are you watching?” or “Can I play too?”
Sometimes, it’s noticing that behind the screen is a child seeking comfort, adventure, or simply rest.
This isn’t a guilt post. It’s a love note to every parent walking this path.
We’re not here to perfect it.
We’re here to walk with awareness, and grow with grace.
💛 To all the mindful parents out there: You’re not alone in this dance. Let’s keep showing up—not with judgment, but with presence.
